Important notice

The ACP Business Climate facility (BizClim) will come to end by December 31st, 2009. A next phase is planned to start early July 2010, following a tender process for the recruitment of the facility's Project Management Unit. Therefore, BizClim's communication tools, including this platform, will hybernate till the start of the second phase. Each one of the BizClim team is glad to have served you in the best of its abilities and most of this platform's members have become friends and dear contacts.

Unfortunately, I am sad to report that the BizClim's main colocated server has been the target of malicious hackers and it shut down on November 26th. The operating system was reinstalled, but it came down again on November 27th. We are working hard to secure the server, reinstall a dozen of applications and put the server on the air as soon as possible. Meanwhile, reports and other publications will remain unaccessible. My sincere apologies.

The private sector should play a greater role in regional integration

Today, African integration seems to be in reach. The treaty establishing the African Economic Community sets forth a vision of a continental community, where regional integration is defined as one of the foundations of African unity. The resounding commitment of Africa’s leadership to regional integration means that Africa is poised to “fast track” efforts towards integration and that there is a fertile ground for the private sector to engage this leadership. Testimony to this is last year’s agr… Continue
